Sassafras Mountain Day Hike

We'll do an out and back hike to Sassafras Mountain, the highest peak in SC, on the Foothills Trail. The total hike distance is 9 miles, with a total elevation gain of 2,380. We should have some very good views ! This will be a moderately strenuous hike. We will stay together as a group and we will stop for dinner on the way home. Please make sure you are familiar with the trip participant guidelines. 8am carpool, 10am at trail head? How does this trail route rate in difficulty compared to Jones Gap hike (10mile 1600 ft. gain)?

Mike, we will meet at 8 and get to the trailhead around 10.
