Laura's Trail
Laura's Trail is part of the trail system at Latta Nature Preserve on Mountain Island Lake. It is named after Laura Anderson, a memorable and active Berg member who sadly died in a car accident in 1995. Four times a year, we do clean-ups for her trail and for others in the Preserve.
Spring (almost)! This is our Quarterly clean-up of Laura's Trail. Meet at 9:00 at the Visitor Center, just inside the gate.
We pick up trash along trails and shorelines until around noon - a pretty way to spend a morning. Lunch usually follows. Usually barbecue. Usually seconds....
In addition, our volunteer hours are credited towards free use of the shelter for our Christmas Party.
Bring water, and gloves, grabbers, bags if you have them. (The Park and the Club provide some equipment, but often not enough.)

Stuart JonesEvent Host2012+1 guestWe had a full dozen volunteers for Laura's Trail this morning. It was a tad breezy and brisk, but the sun was shining and the trash was (happily) pretty light. We cleaned 4 Park areas and earned 24 hours of credit towards our Christmas Party venue. AND we had barbecue and catfish. Good morning with great people. Thanks to all. -

Had a wonderful time even if I did get stuck with Santa (aka Marc). Just messin' with ya Marc. It was great to meet everyone and enjoyed getting to know Marc, Bob, and Chris while taking part in trail clean up in honor of Laura. My virgin trip to Latta Nature Preserve... way coolbeans!! Thank you Stuart for your help in getting me there. Look forward to hanging out with y'all again sometime soon.-Catharine
